Becoming an Adult

As I've now begun the transition to post-collegiate life, I've begun to deal with "real life" issues including:

  • Moving to my own apartment in a different state;

  • Moving to my own phone plan;

  • Purchasing renters insurance;

  • Purchasing auto insurance;

  • Transferring the title of a vehicle into my own name;

  • Registering a vehicle in a new state;

  • Navigating health and dental plans;

  • Navigating retirement plans; and

  • Coordinating much needed and much appreciated visits with my significant other.


I'm sure there is a host of other things that I've not yet mentioned that most college students dare not even think about during their 4-year sleepaway camp from the hustle and bustle of reality. However, I intend to immerse myself in these details in the coming months and share my successes, failures, and lessons learned. Look forward to detailed analysis with plenty of opinion!

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
