Freshman vs. Senior Year

This past evening, I spent some time studying in a residence hall before heading over to an exam. Pausing to observe those around me while I studied, I was surprised and amazed by the differences between freshman students and my senior self.

Listening to these younger students chitter chatter while refreshing their Facebook feeds with limited intent to accomplish work and minimal worry concerning their eventual entrance to the real world contrasted with my immediate interest in getting work done and preparing for the day-to-day after graduation.

I've grown a lot during my college years. And if you haven't started growing yet, get ready.

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
