The Globalization of Indifference

In the season of Lent, it is common practice by Christians to give up something for 40 days as a form of fasting until Easter Sunday. Noted in this recent article by Christopher Hale in Time Magazine, Pope Francis calls his faithful to instead give up something we might not regularly consider—our indifference toward others.

It is my strong belief that we each maintain a social responsibility to serve and care for one another. In the coming weeks, I'd encourage you to share in this belief, even if only for a short time.

People have recognized the importance of love and connection since the rise of organized society. Let us not forget the condition of our fellow man.
