On This Day

On this day, I stopped to recognize how small I am in the scope of things. On this day, I stopped to recognize how big we can be when we work together.

Never can we give up and go away. Forever we must show up and be seen.

Free time lends an idle mind to reflect on where we were, where we are, and where we're going. That free time becomes time spent well when reflection becomes focus.

While the reason we are here may be unclear, the journey to which we belong is not short, but quite long.

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
