January 2014

This past month has been eventful.

  • I helped transition Preview 2014 into their new roles through Preview Retreat.

  • I spent a weekend in Tallahassee learning about and reflecting on leadership in my student organizations and in my own life through SAILE.

  • I took part in MLK Day of Service, seeing the Gainesville community in a new light.

  • I was rejected by the Florida Cicerones for the third and last time.

  • I was notified that the research professor for who I've worked the past two and a half years is now leaving, and though it's bittersweet, sometimes I have trouble seeing the sweet part.

  • I celebrated my little brother James' third birthday!

  • I went on a Peer Leader Retreat and learned about teaching strategies I can use in all areas of my life.

  • I took my first two exams of the spring semester.

  • I interviewed with 3 firms on the hunt for a summer internship.

And while there's more, I believe that what I've learned just from these given experiences has influenced how I see the world and how I approach celebrations and challenges in the future.

My life isn't perfect and neither am I, but the pursuit of learning and growth remains a constant in my life.
