Coffeemaker

There's something very comforting about the sounds of a coffeemaker early in the morning.

You prep the machine and turn it on. As it starts, it hums, and then you begin to hear the trickle as coffee pours out into the pot. As it runs out of water, it sputters for just a few moments before it comes to a stop.

And then it's just there, waiting to be enjoyed.

It's beautiful, in a way.

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
