Perspective

It's amazing the amount of perspective you gain from some time away, even if just a day or two. The small things stop bothering you and you begin to better appreciate the opportunities you're granted.

This past week was a whirlwind of an adventure if anything can be said of the hours worked alongside the best team I've ever had the opportunity of which to be a part. There was one student from my high school at each of the sessions this past week and it was nice to see some familiar faces from back home. As a Staff we're quickly approaching the midway point at which we can remark how fast everything's gone by and how we'll take the next weeks in stride, knowing that time and space will soon converge on a conclusion where we say our goodbyes and go our separate ways for a few weeks before returning for some more.

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
