Pillow Adventures
Context is important, so let's not assume anything from the title.
As my previous post mentioned, upon arrival in our Spanish apartments some UF students were without pillows. Spending a few nights without, we'd come to the realization that this comfort from home could not be forgone. With this motivation we began a long search that unfolded over three days and ended in the outskirts of Madrid at a recently built IKEA.
We walked kilometres and rode buses above ground while changing Metro lines myriad times deep below the city streets. Opportunities to practise our Spanish were plentiful as we asked for directions every ten minutes, getting lost even with paper maps and smartphones using GPS navigation in hand. But the trip was worth it, and I could not be more prouder of the small group of us that found our way.
Shout out to Allyson Barbanell, Jennifer Gutierrez, and Karen Stewart. Those 5+ insufferable hours will not be easily lost on me.
