Searching for Pillows

To our surprise, we were not provided with pillows in addition to our sheets and blankets at the apartment. And so began an adventure.

After gathering a group of willing and awake students, we made our way across the city looking for a department store selling reasonably priced pillows. Stopping shortly for a lunch of mixed characters and regional cuisine, we continued on. After stopping at a grocery store, we were directed to the Metro to reach our final destination. Unfortunately, our Abono Metro passes are not active until tomorrow, June 1.

We returned to our apartment and bumped into the building owner, el dueno. After a short conversation, he pulled some strings and will have pillows brought to us in just a few hours. Such are the pitfalls of this beautiful city.

I love Madrid.

Blog Name Change

I recently changed the name of my blog from stevenevens.me to evens.co . The change is slight, but recognizes that I'm no longer a one-man operation - I'm now part of a team. As life changes, so will this blog. And while I've sometimes struggled in finding topics about which to write, marriage brings an abundance of noteworthy and varied ideas. Hopefully, I'll have a few photos to share from the wedding in a few weeks, but until then, I've put together a rough outline of things I intend to write about. Having Dogs

As a kid, I'd never had a pet. The idea of having an animal roam about your home felt like a silly concept and a wasteful use of time and resources. Over the last few years with our two dogs, Sophie and Khloe, I've found enlightenment. Our dogs give us a lot of joy and companionship, particularly when either Caity or I would otherwise be home alone due to our work schedules or other outside commitments.  To end in the most cliché of ways – I couldn't imagine our life without our two furry family members.
