Reading Day 1
Instead of studying and preparing for final exams like everyone else is, I'm on Tumblr reading through my feed, listening to John Mayer, drinking coffee, and surviving the newfound cold and biting breeze that now blankets Gainesville.
Yesterday being the last day of classes, there were a few professors and teaching assistants who were sentimental about the end of the semester. I know I was. I grew attached to most of my professors, more or less, because they cared about not just my academics but my overall wellbeing. I know most people won't say that about their professors, but getting to know them outside of class helps. I can give advice to any incoming college students, I would suggest going to their professors' office hours. I went and the benefits have been literally exponential. My professors helped make the first semester of college a positive experience.
Yesterday afternoon, I worked at the office. I'm becoming more comfortable with the workplace atmosphere and the work I'm given. I think I'm going to introduce myself to my cubicle neighbors sometime soon. I'd also like to add some personal touches to my cube, but I can't think of what. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to send me an email. As for the trek home, I stopped by the Health Science Center Library and picked up a book on the economics of health care. Some more winter intercession reading. Can't wait!
Last night I went to the FLC Holiday Social and I had a lot of fun. FLC is like a family away from home, surely some of the greatest people I'll meet while I'm at the University of Florida. I'd have to say the best part was standing outside roasting marshmallows and discussing future plans in our academics. As for the Secret Santa exchange, I'll definitely be reading the Forbes and eating the chocolate. Not so sure what I'll do about the third item.
I should really get back to studying. Less than a week before I'm home.
And as for getting over you, I don't want to yet. Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Thank you for your time and have a warm day, Steven.
