Final Exams
As I sit in an armchair the Reitz Union working on my lap with no hope to ever finish all that I must complete in the next 168 hours, I'm beginning to realize that the stress of finals is beginning to wreak its havoc. I'm beyond scatter-brained and exhausted at the moment.
I have seven different programs open on my laptop as I try to troubleshoot WiFi connectivity issues, access email through multiple services, listen to lectures via iTunes, and resolve schedule conflicts. At the same time, I find myself foreshadowing the narrative of my never-to-soon return home to read good books and enjoy the holidays with friends and family.
Quick update, I made the final round of the UF Honors Programs cuts, meaning I'll have a final decision hopefully by Christmas Eve. I am now a student in the Warrington College of Business. I began my new position as a research assistant at the Institute for Child Health Policy at the University of Florida. I am increasingly proficient in finding, reading, and analyzing academic journal articles which previously the entire process I found difficult to begin. I created a new website, sjevens.com, which I hope to use as a portal for academic work documents and the like. I'm reading the newspaper almost daily, keeping up with local and world news despite my greater need to study. I generally get eight hours of sleep per night. I don't exercise nearly enough. I've made some really good friends with who I've begun to share my story.
I'm formulating some college tips for soon-to-be high school graduates and hoping to prepare a presentation that I can give during my spring break. This one should be good.
I haven't posted in a terribly long time and I'm even more terribly sorry because of it. If you're reading this, thank you for your patience.
