When People Leave

It's likely you can stop them. By your inaction, you're removing from yourself the responsibility of the relationship. You're equally at fault.

We have our good days and we have our bad days. Sometimes weeks, months, or years.  Regardless, friends stick through that stuff. The short period of disconnect is magnified as a result of our relatively short existence.

If you're young and someone hasn't spoken to you for a month, that pales in comparison to reconnecting with a friend after decades-long separation.

Leaving is temporary unless you both decide to make it permanent.
