"Burning the candle at both ends"

It's an idiom which I use pretty often in my regular speech but seems to elude the understanding of my audience initially.

According to Urban Dictionary, "An English idiom meaning to work long hours without rest. Working late into the night and beginning again early in the morning."

I've been doing just that the past two or three days and it's beginning to really hurt. Rest is beautiful thing, I hope to enjoy tonight. Getting the proper rest is incredibly important I can't be avoided with a few cups of coffee.

To all those who read my unorganized thoughts and possess similar schedules which demand your time, energy, and passion, do me a favor and remember to recharge. Read a good book, go on a walk, meditate with legs crossed on the floor, let the warmth of a hot cup of tea dissipate in your hands, called a loved one and let them know how you feel.

These are the life experiences from which I derive the greatest enjoyment and peace. Truly. It is from these moments that I emerge fresh and ready to conquer the world before me (really not the world, but all that homework I have in Spanish and Calculus).

It was a pleasure share my thoughts with you. I invite you to share yours with me.
